Panama and Japan began to negotiate a direct flight that may soon become a reality. According the General Manager of Tocumen International airport, Joseph Fidanque III, official representatives of several airlines began negotiating with Tocumen. Among them Japanese ANA, Japan Airlines, English Virgin Atlantic and El Al of Istael.
As for Japan, there is much more there in its relations with Panama. Japan is going to be involved in the construction of the third line of metro and sees country as a very interesting business partner. The President of Panama, Juan Carlos Varela, is soon planning a trip to Japan to sign the financing metro project and see if there can be agreements made in other business areas.
Tocumen is growing rapidly as a main regional hub betweenAmericas. Only in recent year there are several flights that have been introduced, among them direct flights between Paris and Frankfurt, also Turkish airlines plan to launch the direct flight on May 5, 2016.
