Panama awarded for the development of tourism

During the International Tourism Exhibition 2013 in Madrid, which is one of the important ones of its kind, numerous awards were given to different countries for the development of tourism in 2012. At the event, which was attended by different stars in touristic business, the Tourism Authority of Panama has received one of the awards for improvements made in touristic sector.

Deputy Minister of Tourism Ernesto Orillac Panama accepted the award on behalf of the whole ministry. He commented that the award is the result of the efforts of thousands of entrepreneurs and government workers as well as all the people who work in touristic sector of Panama.

This is the second award Panama has received, earlier last year the country got the nomination for one of the best pavilions on the exhibition. During 2012, Panama was visited by more than 2 million people which is 6% more than 2011. According to the forecasts, the rate will increase and reach 10% in 2013.
