Eleven of the world maritime giants support the Corozal Port project

While the bill to concession of the construction of port in Corozal is still being discussed, eleven international operators have already shown their interest in the project.

The ACP (Panama Canal Authority) has made an official statement:

Some of the largest port operational companies have formally expressed their interest regarding the participation in the public tenders for the concession of the port in Corozal. At the present moment, their main concern is possibility to commence the pre-qualification process, which demonstrates the great demand for such services in the Pacific coast of Panama, especially once the Canal expansion will be completed.

  • Evergreen (Taiwan)
  • China Shipping Ports Development Co., LTD & China Harbour Engineering Company, LTD (China)
  • Hamburger Hafen Und Logistik AG (Germany)
  • Panama Ports Company

Among the operators who have shown interest there are some of the major customers of the Panama Canal, which essentially demonstrates commitment to continue using the waterway between two oceans with the following development in the Pacific side.

The Port of Corozal is a strategic infrastructure event for Panama that will generate revenues, improve the movement of cargo and bring added value to the currently ongoing expansion of the Canal.

Both national and international officials in maritime industry have recognized the importance of the port and its special role for the logistics industry of the entire region.
