Government of Panama announces the tender for the construction of the fourth bridge over the Canal

The government has released the first invitation to bid the first works related with the construction of the new bridge over Canal with total cost of $22.2. The bid aims to “achieve recruitment of the technical assistance to ensure proper design and construction of the bridge”.

Companies interested in participating in the tender must submit their proposals before November the 30th.

“The design of the fourth bridge will be somewhat similar to Centenario cable-stayed bridge and located north of the Bridge of the Americas. The approximate length between two pillars will be 118 meters. The pillars will have “Y” inverted shape.

According to the official sources, “The new bridge should be constructed within next 3 years, will contain 6 lanes for automobiles, 3 in each direction and also a two lines for Line 3 Panama Metro. The pillars will rise 110 meter above the surface of the board”.

Earlier we have mentioned that the construction of the new bridge will spur real estate prices in the area, creating more transport connections and opportunities for business to grow.
