Expo Vivienda in Panama beats new records in transactions

The Housing Fair Expo Vivienda 2015 became one of the major events of Panama City past weekend. Organizers already estimated that during only the first two days it recorded more than $70 million in transactions and they hope to exceed last year’s $150 million record.

Alejandro Ferrer, the President of the Committee of Trade and Panamanian Chamber of Construction, said more than 18,000 people have visited trade only between Thursday and Friday. Atlapa Convention Center was literally crowded, especially final two days until it closed Sunday afternoon.

By midweek the representatives hope to announce official results of the fair, where close to 500 residential projects were presented.

A preliminary report of the Comptroller General's Office revealed that the value of buildings and repairs approved in Panama in the first quarter totaled $ 565.7 million, representing 18% increase comparing to the same period last year.

Residential projects below $60,000 Prices are concentrated in remote areas of the capital city as Pacora and Arraijan.
